Pupils at St. Cedds C E Primary School recently celebrated British Science Week 2023 from the 10th to the 19th March with a range of scientific activities based around the theme of Connections.
The week commenced with pupils from all year groups coming into school dressed up as scientists to celebrate the interactive week.
During the day working as scientists, the pupils took part in different scientific tests and enquiries. Activities that took place were based on the theme of British Science Week, Connections.
Pupils across all years got involved with reception making Community Connection Maps, Years 1 and 2 creating Moon Dials and explored Habitat Connections in Forest Schools.
Years 3 and 4 investigated the connection between soil and decomposition. Years 5 and 6 who looked at fingerprints and inheritance. All being aligned with the theme of ‘connections’.
Mrs Wood, Headteacher at St. Cedds C E Primary School said:
“We have been celebrating the beginning of British Science Week. The children came in dressed up as scientists for the day and carried out a variety of scientific investigations. Lots of fun was had by all.”
The Connections theme of British Science Week 2023 was inspired by the idea of celebrating togetherness after the past few years of isolation being a reality. Thanks to the pupils putting in so much effort to dress up and work together to partake in science-based investigations, togetherness were achieved in the art of working as a team and having lots of fun doing so.
