Celebrated in over 100 countries around the globe, World Book Day encourages children and young adults to read for pleasure. Reading is not only fun but has been shown to have a crucial impact on a child’s future success, which is why we felt it important to celebrate as a Trust.
Schools across the Vine Schools Trust took part in a wide variety of activities to showcase their love of reading, including spoon decorating, story jar making and a classic fancy dress competition!
Each school was tasked with the impossible challenge of choosing its top three winners who were all awarded certificates and bookmarks in a special assembly. Photographs of the winning children and their creations were then sent to Emma Wigmore, CEO of the Vine Schools Trust, who selected three finalists to receive special prizes. The top three children all received book tokens which they’ll be able to spend outside of school.
