Rolph C of E Primary School’s football team recently entered the Tendring District Small Schools Tournament at Clacton Leisure Centre.
They played against, All Saints (Harwich), St Philomena’s, St Martins Frobisher, Kirby Primary Academy and Alresford Primary. They won all but one match, losing to Kirby by one unlucky goal.
They qualified for the semi-finals and drew Kirby again. They were awarded a penalty in the last few minutes and scored, taking them through to the final. In the final, they met Alresford, and the score was 0-0 until they went on an unstoppable attack and scored a goal, this resulted in them being Tendring District Small Schools Winners.
They all received gold medals and a trophy for the school cabinet. Well done to all, a great achievement. They have now qualified to represent their area in the Essex Small Schools Tournament next week in Billericay.
