Before the half-term break, Latchingdon CofE Primary School held a fantastic Vision & Values Week.
Their school vision is “Learning to Love, Loving to Learn”, which takes inspiration from John 15:12-13 which says “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
The children took part in five workshops which all focused on our integral vision in different ways. The workshops were split into the following activities:
- Learning different iSingPop songs all based on learning to love, kindness & believing in themselves.
- Making cards for our school families to spread their love and show how much they care
- Working collaboratively within groups colouring letters in a stained-glass effect. The finished piece of work spells out “Learning to Love, Loving to Learn”.
- Teaching the children how to play different outside games which they can then continue to play and enjoy together during break and lunchtimes.
- Discussing with the children what they “love” and “love to learn” before drawing on cubes. All the cube artwork has been collated together & displayed in the school Hall.
- The children were split into five House Teams, Yellow, Orange, Red, Green & Blue, to attend the workshops which gave them a great opportunity to get to know the rest of their House Team members better and bond over the shared vision and values of their school community.
An amazing week was had by all, and we hope the vision and values are now engrained positively into the everyday lives of Latchingdon pupils!
