At the Vine Schools Trust, we feel it’s important to recognise the profound significance of Remembrance Day.
We think it is our responsibility to instil the importance of unity, empathy and gratitude in pupils across our Trust.
In honour of Remembrance Day, we asked pupils to participate in a Trust-wide poetry competition.
They were asked to write a poem in any style they wished – acrostic, haiku, rhyming or free verse.
We received so many wonderful entries. However, we wanted to give special recognition to these fabulous poems:
EYFS and KS1 Runner-up: Eliza from Southminster C of E Primary School
EYFS and KS1 Winner: Reception Class from Rolph C of E Primary School
KS2 Runner-up: Connie from St James’ C of E Primary School
KS2 Winner: Effie from Ridgewell C of E Primary School
Congratulations to our winners and a very well done to all those who participated.
You can see some of the entries below.
