As we move into the third week of school closures, you may be starting to miss your teaching staff! Trying to educate and entertain from home is no easy feat and you may feel a bit out of your depth. Not to worry – the headteachers and teachers of Vine Schools Trust have shared their top 10 tips and thoughts for navigating the weeks ahead.
Keep a normal structure going, get up, get dressed and plan your day.
Keep in contact with your teacher and ask any questions you have – about learning or just about life right now!
Always read. Read to yourself, read aloud to each other and enjoy getting lost in a story together.
Practice your times tables and counting. Maybe bring this into your everyday life by counting how many steps you can take in the garden, play times tables games together.
Write something everyday. Why not write a letter to your neighbours, make a list of things to do, keep a diary
Enjoy the sunshine by getting outside everyday. Take your dog for a walk, walk around the block and find rainbows in the windows of your neighbours windows.
Share your success and celebrate together. Take photos of great learning and share with your teacher, your friends, your family.
Be kind to each other. It’s tough being in the same house as your whole family all day every day so always be kind and help each other.
Learn a new skill. If you want something to fill your time then why not use youtube to learn a new skill from juggling to yoga!
Stay safe. Always follow the Government advice and help the NHS save lives.
