As part of the ongoing Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Orsett Church of England Primary School recently held its own ‘Great Orsett Jubilee Bake Off’. Open to children, teachers, parents and carers, the competition challenged entrants to bake a cake or cupcake which celebrated the historic Jubilee and all things British.
The school received over 50 entries, all of which did a fantastic job of showcasing the children’s creativity and enthusiasm. One family even filmed a special video documenting their Bake Off experience, where the children shared some top tips for baking a showstopping cake.
It was incredibly difficult to choose just three winners; in the end, nine entries were crowned winners as the judges simply couldn’t decide! The cakes were all sold at the end of the school day by the school’s Pupil Parliament, who raised a total of over £290.
Well done to all the children who took part in the Orsett Bake Off – you should be very proud of your Jubilee creations!
