During the last couple of weeks, our school Worship Group and Archbishop of York Young Leaders Club have been working together on a Lent project. They looked at the Stations of the Cross and then decided on the ones they wanted to recreate in their own way. Not having been in school this week, I am yet to see the finished artworks, however, I know they are going to form a focal point of our Easter service on Tuesday.
Our vision at Latchingdon is ‘Learning to love, loving to learn’ based on: My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friend (John 15: 12-13)
I think that during this season of Lent it is good to remember that the best way we can serve God is by serving one another. The children at Latchingdon are very good at doing this and over the last week have raised £400 for Comic Relief, sung for their parents in recognition of Mothering Sunday and the School Council have looked at ways of saving fuel and looking after the environment.
