Following its latest Ofsted inspection, Mistley Norman C of E Primary School and Nursery has recently been rated ‘Good’ in three of the five report requirements.
The school’s behaviour and attitudes, personal development and early years provision have all been praised by inspectors, who spent several days visiting the school in late November. In its extensive report, Ofsted commented that despite being a relatively small school, Mistley Norman has incredibly “strong values”, and offers students “many opportunities within, and in addition to, the curriculum to experience a wide range of interesting visits and visitors to the school”.
The report also made a note of the children’s love of reading, stating that the school’s ‘book talk’ lessons help classes to “understand what they are reading and develop their confidence in talking about books”. The senior leadership team is happy that the school’s progress has been acknowledged in the report, especially given the difficulties of navigating through the ongoing pandemic.
Emma Wigmore, CEO of the Vine School’s Trust, said “Mistley has gone from strength to strength under the new leadership arrangement and I am delighted to see that this has been recognised by Ofsted. As a Trust, we are impressed with the rapid improvements achieved within the school so far and we feel confident that these improvements will continue.”
