Dear Parents & Carers,
Gavin Williamson, Secretary of State for Education, announced this evening that schools in the hardest hit COVID areas will not open their doors as planned after the Christmas break.
Many of our schools sit in the districts of Braintree, Chelmsford, Harlow, Basildon, Thurrock and Maldon, which have been identified as some of the country’s COVID hot spots. This means that we will not be able to open some of our schools after the Christmas break as planned.
We are currently awaiting more Government guidance but what we do know is that we will only be able to open the school to vulnerable children and those where both parents are working as critical workers. All other children will receive remote learning until the Government review on 18th January.
Children will be receiving remote learning on Monday 4th / Tuesday 5th January 2021. We will then open for our vulnerable and critical worker children on Tuesday 5th / Wednesday 6th January 2021 and all other children will begin their remote learning. More details will be sent out shortly.
If you think your child meets the criteria and you will need a school place then please contact your school.
We appreciate your support and your patience during this difficult and challenging time. The health and wellbeing of our children will always be at the heart of our decision making at all Vine Schools Trust schools.
Please be patient with us while we await further Government guidance and put plans together to provide a safe learning environment for all.
