Earlier this month, myself and Mrs Fawcett had the opportunity to meet educators and pupils in China.
We were invited by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education to attend the 18th Jiangsu International Forum for School Principles.
This forum provides a platform to strengthen mutual understanding, collaboration and expands international cooperation and exchanges in educational knowledge between international partners.
This year, the forum was focused on Education Reform and School Accountability and brought together more than 200 delegates from China and overseas.
We were honoured to have received this invitation and we were excited to witness and experience primary education in China. We also were given the opportunity to speak at the forum and share our experiences as a UK-based Multi-Academy Trust.
It certainly was a whirlwind week! It was wonderful to visit schools across Jiangsu Province and we always received an incredibly warm welcome with pupil displays, workshops and even handmade artwork and gifts.
A huge thank you again to all of you who provided artwork for us to take to China. These will be a part of a touring gallery visiting schools across Jiangsu Province. We hope to receive a picture of your artwork on display.
In return, we also received artwork from Chinese pupils, which we hope to be able to display in the coming months.
If you’d like to see what we got up to, please watch the video and explore the gallery.
