The Vine Schools Trust is pleased to announce that it has been shortlisted for the Multi-Academy Trust Award in this year’s National Schools Awards.
Organised by the Institute of School Business Leadership (ISBL) and the Schools Academies Show, the National School Awards recognise those who have been working hard to innovate and improve the educational sector for students and teachers across the UK.
The MAT of the Year Award is one of eight categories and gives credit to a Trust that has “successfully turned around their schools or managed to grow whilst increasing pupil outcomes”. The Vine Schools Trust was able to talk about its Christian resilience, with a special focus on how it brings churches, families, and schools together into one large community.
During last summer, the Vine Schools Trust took on the intimidating task of restructuring its teaching support system. The team worked hard to ensure that the new system was ready for the start of term, and have since seen an incredible 15% rise in standards- a result which has boosted the Trust above national expectations for the first time in over four years.
We’re also immensely proud of Bulphan Church of England Academy, who have been shortlisted for the Leadership Team of the Year Award. This award recognises those who are taking important steps to secure the sustainability of their school, and is always a very competitive category.
The leadership team at Bulphan C of E Academy took the initiative to introduce a ‘professional partners’ system, whereby each member of staff at Bulphan was partnered with a teacher from St Margaret’s C of E Primary School. This allowed both schools to improve their teaching and learning, with regular coaching sessions and reflective activities being held each term.
The winners of each award will be announced in an evening ceremony on Wednesday 8th December at the House of Lords in Central London. We’re incredibly proud to have been shortlisted, and have got our fingers crossed for the finals!
