Leaders of Southminster Primary School invited community members to share in their celebration as the school has never been judged ‘Good’ in its 20-year history.
Southminster Parish Council members attended the school to take part in a confetti release with the pupils. They were then invited to tour around the schools and see some lessons in action.
Attendee Cllr. Meinir Wyn Davies said, “It was a pleasure to celebrate the recent Ofsted rating of “Good” with Southminster Primary School.
“I hope that Southminster Parish Council and Southminster Primary School will embrace the occasion as being the start of a new chapter in which we can support one another in everything we do.”
The pupils of Southminster were then very excited to receive a visit from a local Maldon District police officer. As part of the celebration, pupils were invited to ask the police officer questions and sit in the driving seat of the police car and wear the officer’s hat.
Maldon District Police shared, “Congratulations to Southminster Primary School on their Ofsted report, you must all be very proud! Hope you all enjoyed the lights and sirens of our car yesterday, it was a pleasure meeting you all!”
Headteacher Wendy Woods said, “It was a real pleasure to be able to host Southminster community members at the school for this special celebration.
“This result is a testament to the hard work of the entire Southminster community, which is why we felt it was important to share this win together.
“Thank you to all those who took the time to come and visit us.”
