Pupils at Belchamp St Paul C of E Primary School recently joined the national attempt for this year’s TCS Mini London Marathon in schools.
The TCS Mini London Marathon in schools is a challenge for children to run, jog, walk or wheel one mile in their schools any time between Monday 17 April to Friday 12 May, a timeframe either side of this year’s TCS London Marathon on Sunday 23 April.
For the 2023 edition, the TCS Mini London Marathon in schools teamed up with Guinness World Records to create an exciting world record attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most exercises pledges made in a month.
Belchamp St Paul is a small community, so they decided on the message #WeRunTogether.
Parents and younger siblings came to join the fun and they set off together to complete a one mile run around their school field.
Children at Belchamp St Paul made their pledges together as part of a whole school assembly led by Kate Creak, the school’s Forest School teacher and running expert.
Kate said, “Spirits were high and we worked together as a community, being led and managed by our Year 6 students.
“Our school ethos and values were clear to see as children, teachers and parents supported each other through the course.”
The prize at the end of the run – a medal, a lolly, and a huge sense of achievement!
Congratulations to Belchamp St Paul Primary School for being a part of this fantastic Guinness World Record attempt. We’re proud of the pupils for making their exercise pledges.
