To bring its week of Platinum Jubilee celebrations to a close, Ridgewell Church of England Primary School held an exciting day of outdoor activities on the school field.
Part of these celebrations included planting a commemorative tree to mark Queen Elizabeth’s 70th year on the throne which the children will be able to watch grow as they progress through the school. This was followed by a musical interlude of singing and country dancing, with classes coming together to sing the national anthem and show off some of their best moves.
In the afternoon, some of the older children took it upon themselves to organise a fair on the school field, selling a variety of treats to get each year-group excited about the upcoming Jubilee weekend. Parents and carers were invited to the Village Hall towards the end of the school day where the children had put together a fantastic display of work about the Queen, including biographies, portraits and fun facts.
The children had a lovely time celebrating the Jubilee with their classmates and did a brilliant job of sharing their enthusiasm with their teachers, parents and carers.
