Towards the end of the summer term, several of our schools decided to enter a writing competition open to all schools across the Vine Schools Trust. The competition asked pupils to write a story based on one of the Church of England’s educational values; these values include wisdom, hope, community and respect, all of which encouraged the pupils to think creatively about how these values can be written into their own story.
We received a huge number of entries and were so impressed with the imaginative pieces that each pupil worked hard to create. Although the decision was very difficult, we have chosen two winning entries that we feel reflect the Church’s values and their vision for the Trust.
Congratulations to Amelia Radmall from Latchingdon C of E Primary School, who has written a valuable short story about the importance of respecting your teacher and classmates by listening and not calling out.
Congratulations are also due to Thalia Hedman from Rivenhall C of E Primary School, who decided to write a heart-warming tale about the importance of community and standing up for others when they are being treated unfairly.

“The Vine Schools Trust writing competition has been a great opportunity to see another example of how our pupils always rise up to a challenge. Amelia and Thalia’s entries were very impressive and a pleasure to read. Keep up the fantastic work!”
