Belchamp St Paul C of E Primary School has recently been rated ‘Good’ in all areas of its latest Ofsted inspection report.
The Ofsted inspection was completed at the end of January and highlighted that the pupils were “proud to be part of this encouraging school, which is in the heart of the village”.
The inspector also noted that the pupils “benefit from the close-knit community and family atmosphere” of the school and that they “love using the rural location and forest school”.
The report emphasised that the pupils have “positive attitudes to challenges and respond well to the school’s high expectations”. The inspector commented that the pupils “enjoy coming to school, where they develop their courage and resilience”.
There was a particular focus on reading being a strength of the school. The inspector reported, “Reading is a strength. Pupils enjoy sharing books by a range of authors. In early years, children start learning to read well.”
Headteacher Ana Da Piedade shared, “Our wonderful, caring and nurturing school family is really proud to have secured the judgement of GOOD from our recent Ofsted. Our parents, our children and our staff have all been enjoying the learning journey together, helping each other and making the most of the many skills we have as a team.
“Our brilliant weekly Forest Schools, our excellent, varied language lessons for all children, and our enrichment plans mean that every child can succeed at Belchamp St Paul, and every child can help others to succeed too. We believe in our values being part of who we are and what we do every day, in every way.
“We are grateful for our loyal and hardworking parents who support us with everything from fundraising to fun trips, flower arranging to food service, friendly welcomes to new children and their families and most importantly being kind and thoughtful. Our children are awesome, and our families are awesome too!”
Our CEO Emma Wigmore said, “We are so proud of Belchamp St Paul for achieving this fantastic outcome.
“It was wonderful to read the fantastic feedback from Belchamp St Paul’s recent Ofsted inspection. We are especially pleased to read about how much the pupils enjoy attending school and how much they embrace their rural environment.
“A huge congratulations to the staff and children who clearly demonstrated what an amazing school community Belchamp St Paul has.”
