St Cedd’s Church of England Primary School recently received a special visit from children’s author Michael Morpurgo on Friday 26th May.
Michael was visiting Bradwell-on-Sea for the weekend, visiting old haunts from when he was a young boy. His family moved to Bradwell-on-Sea in the early 1950s and he spent his school holidays in the area.
He spent time reading to the children and answering some very challenging questions as well as inspiring the children to love reading and enjoy writing.
After the reading, Michael officially opened St Cedd’s school library with a ribbon cutting with his wife Clare.
Headteacher, Lyndsey Wood said “It was absolute pleasure to welcome Michael and Clare into St Cedd’s. This is a once in a lifetime visit and we will never forget it.”
